about

In For Good is a coming of age song which explores the angst of losing someone you lost your sense of self with and the attempt to recapture that with someone new. The 3rd single from There Be Gingers, In For Good was recorded in Corvallis, Oregon and released 29 years after it was written on acoustic guitar in Newcastle upon Tyne in October 1992.

lyrics

Deepen your thought, let me in
I'm right here with you, coming in through your skin
I'm down by your side, way over your head
In pleasure and pain, believe me you can be led

You don't need to know my name
You don't need to know my name

In dominance and submission you reign
You're pulling me out, it's that feeling again
You're down by my side, you're over my head
Well this is how it should be, but remember what I said

You don't need to know my name
You don't need to know my name

I warn you from this moment, you will never be the same
Prepare to change, prepare to change
Once it's got inside you, if you try to break the chains
Prepare to fail, prepare to fail

You don't need to know my name
You don't need to know my name

So deepen your thought, and let me right in
I'm rolling you over in that feeling again
Your eyes are turning wild, your fingers deep in skin
You know what you can do now, can you see where it begins?

You don't need to know my name
You don't need to know my name
